Prince Hall was the first Negro to be initiated into the Masonic Order in the United States. On March 6,1775 Hall and fourteen other free colored men were initiated into Lodge No. 441, a British Army Lodge working under the Grand Lodge of Ireland and at that time stationed in Boston.
